
As part of Vaccination Week (April 24-30), the Department of Health Management held a seminar titled "Factors Affecting Vaccination Behavior Among Healthcare Workers." The event highlighted the critical role of vaccination in individual and public health, addressing the multifaceted factors influencing vaccination attitudes and practices among healthcare workers. The speaker, Research Assistant Dr. Gizem Zevde AYDIN, a faculty member in the Department of Health Management and a graduate student in the Vaccine Studies Program at Hacettepe University's Vaccine Institute, shared insights into the impact of factors such as vaccine hesitancy, knowledge level regarding vaccines, risk perception, professional responsibility, institutional support mechanisms, and communication processes on vaccination behavior among healthcare workers. The role of healthcare workers as reliable sources of information in the community was also emphasized. Strategies for increasing vaccination rates among healthcare workers, as well as the necessity of education and awareness campaigns, were also discussed. The seminar was considered an important event contributing to the preservation of herd immunity and increased vaccine awareness during Vaccination Week.
