Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMÜ) Faculty of Health Sciences and Samsun Probation Directorate held an important meeting to strengthen cooperation in the fight against addiction. The meeting focused on joint projects and application areas aimed at increasing scientific, preventive, and rehabilitative studies against various types of addiction.
The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Esra Pancar Yüksel, the Vice Dean Assoc. Dr. Mahmut Yaran, the Director of the OMÜ Addiction Combat Application and Research Center, Dr. Alaattin Altın, the Director of Samsun Probation Directorate, Mehmet Ofluoğlu, and probation officers.
The discussions highlighted the development of protective programs specifically targeting young people and at-risk groups, the integration of academic knowledge with field applications, and the widespread adoption of multidisciplinary studies. Agreement was also reached on taking joint steps in areas such as awareness training, student-participated social responsibility projects, and field research. This collaboration aims to create significant gains for public health by contributing to sustainable and science-based practices in the fight against addiction.
