HİSTORY
Faculty of Health Sciences - Department of Social Work started education in 2011 as a licence program within the constitution of Ondokuz Mayıs University and was started education and training activities in 2014-2015 academic year.
Qualification Awarded
The Bachelor's Degree in Social Work is awarded to the graduates who have successfully completed all courses in the curriculum.

Specific Admission Requirements
Students who have completed secondary education in Turkey or have received an equivalent education abroad and has get sufficient points in Undergraduate Placement Examination (LYS) TM-3 are accepted the Department of Social Work. Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) Turkey recognition of prior formal learning in Higher Education Institutions, internal migration, horizontal and vertical transitions are carried out under the regulations set by the Board of Higher Education. The vertical and lateral transfer to the Department of Social Work is possible for the students who fulfil the qualifying conditions.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Students must obtain a grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and successfully pass all courses on the program. Profile of The Programme The social work program aims to be a professional, organisational, planner, educator and researcher in public sector, private sector and non-governmental organisations in the rural and urban areas for the applicant systems at various levels, integrating the professional knowledge, values and skills of the graduates. The programme is completed in 4 years (8 academic semesters). Each academic year consists of 13-16 weeks. Lessons are periodical and there are no prerequisites. At least one midterm and a final exam are held in each academic year according to the Ondokuz Mayıs University Education and Examination Regulations. Apart these, internship application, project, field study, organisation visits, research, presentation, homework etc. techniques are also applied.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
OMU evaluation of theoretical courses are based on the provisions of the Education and Training Examination Regulations. At least one for each course, students shall be subject to mid-term and final exam. The mid-term exams, the contribution of 40% and 60% is the contribution of the final exam. Evaluation: Students evaluate the condition of success in the application environment of the application is made by the instructor on the course. A student is required to successfully complete the designated program of courses meet a minimum of 240 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00.

Facilities
The department has 1 associate professor, 2 assistant professors, 2 lecturers and 1 research assistants. And also, lessons are processed through assignment from other faculty or social work institution. Education is being continued by making use of the physical facilities of the Faculty of Health Sciences.
