HISTORY
The Department of Health Management was established to provide effective, efficient, and quality services in the health sector, to increase health systems' performance and increase society's health and health institutions' efficiency. Ondokuz Mayıs University Health Management Department was established on 26.07.2012 and started to accept students in the 2015-2016 academic year. Ondokuz Mayıs University Department of Health Management aims to graduate qualified professional health managers who know the country's general health policy, the economic and administrative structure and problems of the public and private health sector, the characteristics and functioning of hospitals, and other health institutions, and the health system. Following the decision of the Executive Board of YÖK, dated 26.08.1998, graduates of the Health Management Department receive the title of "Health Manager." In addition to the undergraduate program in Health Management, there are Interdisciplinary Health Management Master's Programs with Thesis, Non-Thesis, Second Education and Distance Education and Doctorate Programs. Our University Department of Health Management has one Prof. Dr., one Assoc. Dr., one Dr. Lecturer Member, one Lecturer and four Res. Assist. It continues its educational activities with a total of eight faculty members. The education period is four years and eight academic semesters.
MISSION
To train professional health managers who can work in the middle and upper levels needed in hospitals and health institutions in both public and private health sector, to follow the scientific developments in the field of health management, to recognize the problems, and to produce new information that will solve the problems in the health sector.

To be among the leading educational institutions that graduate qualified professional health managers in the field of Health Management.
OBJECTIVES
To train qualified and professional health managers who know the country's general health policy, the economic and administrative structure and problems of the public and private health sector, hospitals' characteristics and functioning, and other health institutions and the healthcare system.

Establishment
Ondokuz Mayıs University Health Management Department was established on 26.07.2012 and started to accept students in the 2015-2016 academic year.
Degree Earned
According to the Council of Higher Education's decision, graduates of the Health Management Undergraduate Program receive the title of "Health Manager" dated 20.08.1998.

Admission and Registration Conditions
The student who wants to enroll in the department must have completed the processes/ passed the exams determined by the OSYM within the framework of the university's academic and legal legislation.
Rules on Recognition of Prior Learning (formal, non-formal) Students studying at Ondokuz Mayıs University Health Management Department may be exempted from some courses within the framework of specific regulations. If the content of the course taken at another institution is following the content of the course given and is approved, the student may be exempted from the course for which he has requested exemption.
Qualification Requirements and Rules
Students who complete all of the compulsory courses and related elective courses in the program and complete 240 ECTS in total, and reach at least 2.00 weighted average over 4.00 are entitled to graduate from the program successfully.

Graduation Requirements
For students to graduate, they must pass all the courses in the program successfully. In this program, students must complete a minimum of 240 ECTS and have a minimum GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00.

Department Opportunities
One professor, one associate professor, two doctor lecturers, and four research assistants work in the department. Education continues by using the physical and online facilities of the Faculty of Health Sciences of our university.
